The day you’ve been dreaming about is finally here - your bridal dress try-on appointment! We at Mary's Designer Bridal Boutique in beautiful Annapolis, Maryland, are so excited to help you find "the one."

To make sure your experience is as seamless, fun, and productive as possible, we’ve put together a quick, conversational checklist of everything you should bring with you. Think of this as your personalized packing list for your date with destiny!

Setting the Stage: The Right Undergarments
The foundation of any great look is great undergarments! What you wear beneath the gowns can drastically change how they fit and look, so choosing wisely is key.

Nude or White Seamless Underwear: This is a must. You don't want bright colors or bulky seams distracting from the dress. A smooth, nude color will disappear under almost any fabric.
The Right Bra (If Applicable): If you already know you want a traditional bra, bring one along! However, many bridal gowns are designed to be worn without one, or they require specific adhesive/backless options. If you're unsure, feel free to bring a strapless bra just in case, but don't stress too much about it - your consultant can offer advice!

Shapewear (If Desired): If you plan on wearing shapewear on your wedding day, bring the specific type you intend to use. This ensures the dress fits perfectly over the supportive layer.

The Details: Shoes and Accessories
While you don’t need your exact wedding shoes, bringing something with the same heel height is crucial for understanding how the dress will look and feel.

Shoes with the Target Heel Height: Grab a pair of shoes that are the same height as the ones you envision wearing on your wedding day. This allows you to get an accurate idea of the hem length and the overall silhouette.

Hair Ties/Clips (For Updos): If you’re leaning toward an updo or a half-up style, a simple hair tie or clip can help you mimic the look, allowing you to see how different necklines frame your face.
Any Sentimental Jewelry: Do you already have "something borrowed" earrings or a necklace from your mother that you know you'll be wearing? Bring it! Seeing the full look come together can be a huge help in saying "yes."

Practical Pointers: Don't Forget These!
These seemingly small things will make a big difference in how comfortable and prepared you feel.

A Camera (Or a Photo-Ready Phone!): While some boutiques have policies on photos (always ask first!), having a camera can be helpful for tracking your favorite looks or sending a quick picture to someone who couldn't make it.
Water and a Snack: Dress shopping is an event! Appointments can last over an hour, and you’ll be doing a lot of moving and posing. Stay hydrated and bring a small, non-messy snack to keep your energy up.
Your Inspiration Photos and Notes: Bring a folder, a Pinterest board, or just a few quick notes on what you like (and dislike!) in terms of silhouettes, fabrics, and styles. This gives your consultant a great starting point!

An Open Mind (The Most Important Item!): Seriously, this is the most essential thing you can bring. Be ready to try on styles you might have previously dismissed. Sometimes, the dress that surprises you is the perfect one!
