Coming into the world of all things bride can be very intimidating for some. Having all eyes on you, scared of the consequences if you don’t choose the right venue, color scheme, plates. Through all the chaos of planning you dream wedding, finding your dress shouldn’t be. This is the one moment, the one opportunity for the bride to be her true self. I once read in an article, that your wedding dress should be your most self-expressive article of clothing. And for some this is very true. For others, this may be the time for you to have fun and make an everlasting impression to your family, friends, and your partner.
Whether it be a full glamorous ballgown, that makes your feel like the gorgeous queen you are. Or the clean elegant dress that conveys timeless beauty that you will show to your grandkids when you’re 50. Whichever you choose, your wedding dress should be a personal decision, solely based on your emotions and how you envision yourself.
Here at Mary’s, we tell all our clients that finding your dream wedding dress is super easy, like 1 2 3.
One. Confident?
This word alone has various meanings, but to us Confident means to feel beautiful, to feel like your true self, and to feel like the dress represents who you are as a person. Too many times throughout our lives, we as women have to adhere to rules of what to wear ( work, school, church, etc). Your wedding is your moment to wear whatever you want. Read that again.
Two. Comfortable?
Similar to feeling confident; the better you feel, the more you’ll smile, the more relaxed you’ll be. Can you dance? Can you sit? Can you lift your arms? And more importantly, can you bend to use the bathroom? Make sure your dress is comfortable, from the fabric to the structure of the bodice. The weight of the dress is also crucial. Remember ladies, you will most likely be in this dress all day long.
Three. Can You Picture It?
Last but definitely not least, being able to envision yourself walking down the aisle. Those same feelings of excitement, peaceful assurance, and satisfaction of when you first got engaged. Can you picture it? How do you feel? This is the moment.
These 3 questions are guidelines to help you find your dream wedding dress, so don’t be hard on yourself. Finding your dress isn’t something like homework, having to check off all the boxes of some list. This is all about emotions. So channel in to yours, because this is a huge moment. Your wedding dress is something that will live rent-free in your mind as well as your partners, trust me. Make it count.
